Lanark Specialist Hospital is a corporate organization registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria and the State Government; Licensed to provide quality medical service to the populace ofIbadan in various areas of healthcare, especially in Internal Medicine. Lanark Specialist Hospital and Yosi Sekoni Maternity was founded 34 years ago by Dr George Ajibola Sekoni and his wife, MrsChristianahibiyosi Sekoni, a nurse and midwife by profession. The name Lanark comes from the region in Scotland where George Ajibola trained to become a medical doctor, attending the University of Glasgow. Christianah practiced nursing in the same area. A few years after qualifying as a physician, he returned to Nigeria as a cardiologist attached to University Teaching Hospital (UCH) Ibadan. George Ajibola was eager to contribute to the health sector in Nigeria The clinic initially operated from a small base in the heart of Ibadan, providing medical care to the residents in that area on a part time basis. It changed base to Adeoyo Road area, Ring Road in 1983 and has operated from there up till date. The vision of the founders to provide excellent customer service to all patients, through provision of proper, reliable medical care has been passed down to staff and management over the years. This vision is still at the very core of our practice today. Lanark Specialist Hospital operates a 24 hours service.

Our drugs are mostly from wholesales Pharmaceutical companies and we use NAFDAC approved drugs only. Registration with other HMO’S and Corporate Bodies We have been providing services to enrollers on managed care for over 10 years and for NHIS enrollees since the inception of the NHIS. We are affiliated to about 20 HMO’s for both NHIS and non-NHIS enrollees and have the retainer ship of many private corporate bodies and about 1,000 NHIS enrollees and another 500 private managed care enrollees presently use our facilities.
